After the events that took place in 2012 with the Avengers, Loki was returned to Asgard and then banished to Earth, with very little magic, as his punishment. While on Earth, Loki ran into Natasha Romanoff, and it wasn't long before the two fell in love, and Loki went to live with Natasha. They lived together for months, and eventually, Loki was allowed to return to Asgard. He took Natasha with him to meet his mother, but the trip didn't last long, and didn't go well, and the two returned to Earth, but engaged to be married, and with Loki's magic restored in full. After a small, private ceremony on Asgard about a month later, one that was given by Frigga herself, Loki learned that Natasha was pregnant. He was thrilled by the news, and became even more invested in their future together, even giving Natasha a husky puppy for Christmas, which she named Snowden. They visited Asgard once more after Christmas, to share the news of Natasha's pregnancy, but Loki and Odin got into yet another argument, and they were forced to leave, and warned not to return. After Christmas, Loki began to have nightmares, caused by his previous involvement with the mad titan Thanos. He refused to sleep due the severity of the nightmares, and eventually snapped on Natasha by mistake. She was furious with him, both because of her hormones and because of what he had said to her, and told him to leave, and that they were done. Loki, not wanting to cause another fight, silently left for Asgard, where he was arrested upon arrival thanks to his argument with Odin.
On Asgard, Loki was imprisoned once again. He was in the prisons for nearly two years, finding his own way to get Thanos out of his head once and for all. While Loki was imprisoned, the Dark Elves attacked Asgard, killing Frigga, and leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Thor turned to Loki for help, promising to help get Loki out of prison so he could return to Natasha after the war with the Dark Elves was over. Loki agreed, but when they traveled to the Dark Elves' realm, their plan went wrong, and Loki was seemingly killed. The god hadn't /actually/ been killed, however. He had been stabbed directly through the chest, yes, but he survived all the same, and successfully faked his death. After Thor left Loki's body behind, Loki returned to Asgard, finding that Odin had fallen into the Odin Sleep without anyone knowing. Quickly, the god hatched a plan, sending Odin's sleeping form to a chamber that would ensure the man stayed asleep for however long Loki wanted. He then disguised himself as Odin. Shortly after, Thor returned to Asgard, after having successfully defeated Malekith. He declined taking the throne, though, in favor of living on Earth with Jane, leaving Loki to officially be King. Thor, however, did not know that Loki was still alive, having been speaking with Loki, who was disguised as Odin when he returned. After Thor left, Loki cloned himself and, turning said clone into Odin, convinced the Asgardian people that Loki would be a suitable choice for King. Surprisingly, since the people held such respect for Odin, they agreed, and Loki was crowned King of Asgard. He later told the Asgardians that Odin retired to a secret location with orders not to be disturbed, as to explain his absence on Asgard.
Loki returned to Earth to look for Natasha approximately one month after this. He found her easily, but he was not pleased when he did. Natasha's covers had been blown by the destruction of SHIELD, so when Loki returned, she was furious again. She handed their son to him, saying she could no longer care for the child with the world knowing everything about her. She also gave Loki the husky back, before asking him to leave. Heartbroken, Loki took his son and his dog back to Asgard with him. He later woke Odin from his sleep, and banished him to Earth after stripping him of his godly powers.
Loki lived as King for a few months after this, his brother enjoying life on Midgard. Loki often went for walks at night on Midgard, though, as he found that he missed the planet that he had once hated, and one night, he found who he thought was Natasha, only blonde, and with her memories erased. Loki, believing that he could convince her to love him again, took the blonde back to Asgard, where he tried to help her regain her memories. After a month, though, he grew frustrated, as what she was remembering was nothing from the time they were together. One night, with her permission, Loki used his magic to restore all of her memories. Unfortunately, in doing so, they both discovered that the blonde was not Natasha, but a clone of her that called herself Juliet. Devastated, Loki closed himself off, locking himself in his room, and staying away from Juliet as often as he could.
Months later, Juliet, tired of being ignored, ran away from Asgard, escaping through one of Loki's many hidden passageways between the worlds. Loki was informed instantly, and he quickly went after the blonde in order to bring her back. She refused at first, but when he admitted to having been watching her the last few months, and admitted to having fallen in love with Juliet for who she was, not who he thought that she was, she agreed, and she returned to Asgard, where she has remained ever since.
Loki and Juliet are now married, and expecting a child of their own.
