After living with Juliet on Asgard for two years, Loki finally decided to propose to her, and took her out to one of his favorite places in order to do so. Just as he asked her, though, and before she could answer, Asgard fell under attack, and the two of them, both fearing for the safety of Loki's son, Aleks, returned to the palace to discover that a handful of Frost Giants had managed to find their way back into Asgard. As king, Loki had no choice but to attempt to speak with them, but due to his attempt at destroying Jotunheim years before, they had no interest in his politics, and the leader of the group grabbed his hand in order to remind him of what he was. As Loki's hand turned to its usual blue hue, Juliet, who was watching from the shadows with no knowledge of what Loki was or what he had done, simply stared in horror at the sight, and both of them were unable to free the God of Mischief as the Frost Giants prepared to kill him. Before they were able to, however, Thor returned, after two years of traveling around the realms in search of the Infinity Stones. He was furious to learn that Loki was still alive, and that he was the king of Asgard, and as he attacked the remaining Frost Giants, Loki and Juliet ran to protect Aleks. When they reached him, the leader of the Frost Giants had already beaten them there, and he nearly killed Juliet before Loki killed him, saving both his girlfriend and his son in the process. Before he had a chance to try and comfort his son, however, Thor appeared again, and Loki attempted to talk to him to calm him down. Thor nearly killed Loki, though, and only stopped because Aleks entered the room, with Juliet not far behind. Thor then, after having not seen his nephew in years, ceased his 'attack' on his brother, and Loki was able to comfort his son as Thor questioned who Juliet was, mistaking her for Natasha. Loki angrily corrected his brother, but Juliet excused herself anyways, and after leaving Aleks in Thor's care, Loki went after her.
Once in Loki's room, he offered to explain /everything/ to Juliet, including everything he had done to make Thor hate him so much. Juliet had no interest in what he had done, however, and simply wanted to know why Loki had kept his true origin from her. He explained to her that he hated what he was, and why, and Juliet responded by saying once again that she didn't care about what Loki had done in the past, as that wasn't who he was anymore. She then accepted his proposal, much to his surprise after everything that had happened that night.
The next morning, Thor once again confronted Loki about what had been going on since his supposed death. Loki, of course, only explained in the most vague way possible, which only caused Thor to once again, grow angry. He continued to question his brother, mostly about Odin's whereabouts, and Loki continued to insist that Odin was alive, but that he couldn't take Thor to him. Of course, Thor simply assumed that he was lying, and eventually summoned Mjolnir to try and make Loki behave. Before he could really threaten his brother, though, Juliet arrived just in time to overhear the conversation, and lie in Loki's favor. She managed to convince Thor that Odin had simply grown too old and too tired to rule, and that he had declared Loki king before retiring to a location that only Loki and herself knew of, and that he had asked not to be disturbed. Loki was once again shocked by her actions, but he played along anyways, as the story she had told was remarkably similar to the story that he had told the other Asgardians. Thor finally calmed down, accepting Juliet's answer, and she was finally able to properly introduce herself to the God of Thunder, after which Loki welcomed him back to Asgard.
