Only a few days after the Frost Giant's failed attempt to kidnap Loki's son, they attacked again, only this time, they attacked one of Loki's close friends, Cassandra Sandsmark, due to her relationship with Loki. She managed to escape and find Loki, who fought off the two Jotuns while Cassie ran for help. When she returned, she was just in time to distract the Jotuns from killing Loki, and he managed to wriggle free from their grip, but not before Cassie saw his hand shift to blue, revealing his heritage to someone he had kept it from for the second time that week. The realization that Loki was part of the race of monsters that was attacking her was enough to send Cassie into a panic attack, and Loki was forced to fight off the Jotuns again, managing to kill one before collapsing from exhaustion himself. He then instructed the palace guards to find Thor and go after the Frost Giant that had attacked, before attempting to calm Cassie down and explain to her why he hadn't told her the truth. Cassie didn't want to talk, however, and once Loki had recovered, he left her alone to check on his son, planning to go back and speak to Cassie once the issue with the Jotuns was cleared up.
A while later, Juliet joined Loki in the throne room to check on him, and he explained to her what had happened, and that he was done playing the Frost Giant's game. Juliet was quick to suggest that they try and negotiate a peace treaty, much to Loki's annoyance, and stated that it would be better for everyone if peace was made rather than a war started. Loki eventually agreed to try and negotiate peace, but that he wanted to speak with Thor before finalizing the decision. Juliet agreed, and when Thor returned from hunting down the Jotun, Juliet left them alone to speak. Exactly as before, Thor, who had blocked the Frost Giant's passageway into Asgard, wanted to start war with Jotunheim, and was very unhappy with Juliet's influencing of Loki. They both decided that they could still try and negotiate peace, though, and then attack once the treaty was rejected. Loki informed Juliet of this, but she insisted that she go with the brothers to Jotunheim, and Loki, unable to tell her no, eventually agreed to let her come along. Thor was unhappy to learn this, but when Loki reassured him that the plan to attack was only delayed and not changed, he agreed to let the female come along.
Several days later, Loki, Thor, and Juliet all traveled to Jotunheim by way of the Bifrost. There, Loki met with the Jotuns' king and proposed a peace treaty, and was, expectedly, met with a refusal. He was also shocked to learn, however, that the current king of Jotunheim was his biological brother, Helblindi, and that the Frost Giant he had killed during the first attack was also his biological brother, Byleistr. Juliet then spoke up in Aleks' defense, which only worsened the situation to a point where Loki actually did try to get them to consider peace, but the results were the same as before. Helblindi then told them that they had seven days to prepare for a war, before telling them to leave. Loki complied, but on their way out of the palace, Helblindi knocked Juliet unconscious as an 'example of what was to come'. This naturally enraged Loki, and while Thor attempted to calm him down and get him to leave so that they could get Juliet to the healers, Loki chose to try and attack anyways, and told Thor to take Juliet back to Asgard. Knowing what Loki was doing was suicidal, Thor disobeyed his orders and called for Heimdall to bring them back, which was done just in time. Once they were back on Asgard, however, Loki was even angrier, and nearly attacked Thor before demanding he be sent back to Asgard. Thor once again spoke out of turn, however, and reminded Loki of the plan, and that Juliet still needed help. That calmed Loki down enough for him to send Thor and Juliet off to the healers, while he himself took a few minutes to calm the remainder of the way down. Later, once Juliet was finally awake after having been healed, she and Loki spoke about what the next step would be, and decided that, in order for someone to be watching over Asgard, they would get married so that Juliet could be the queen, and Loki and Thor could go to Jotunheim in order to execute a sneak in an attempt to weaken the Frost Giants' army.
The next night, after the wedding, Thor and Loki traveled to Jotunheim through one of Loki's secret passageways between the realms. Once they arrived, they slipped inside the castle and found a large portion of the Jotuns, asleep due to the late hour. They attempted to attack, but Thor woke them up, and a small fight ensued before the two brothers came out victorious, and moved on. They eventually ran into Helblindi, and Loki instructed Thor to attack the guards, while he went after Helblindi. Thor did as he was told, and Loki attacked his 'brother', nearly beating him to death in a blind rage for what he had done to Juliet, and to Asgard in general in the past week. He managed to snap himself back to reality before he killed Helblindi, though, and when he finally stopped attacking, Helblindi called off his men and surrendered, and Thor and Loki returned to Asgard, once again victorious.
